Matchbox 1/32 Tiger Moth DH-82C

Matchbox 1/32 Tiger Moth DH-82C

Although the serial number may be wrong, I based the kit on a Tiger Moth that my Great Uncle Tommy Crossman (RAF Halifax Pilot) learned to fly in at No 6 EFTS (Empire Flight Training School) in Prince Albert (Saskatchewan) and later in Airspeed Oxfords at Swift Current, Saskatchewan Canada (39 SFTS) in 1943 as part of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan.

An original 1970's Matchbox Tiger Moth kit, complete with musty smells. The kit was easy to build and the decals were perfectly usable after 40 years!! Painting the 3 plastic coloured sections yellow was a hard task to match the paint.

This is the Tiger Moth trainer in the Aviation Museum in Ottawa, Canada used as a reference.
